International Tea Day

A celebration since 2005 in tea producing countries such as India, Sri Lanka, Kenya and Bangladesh. It is commonly used as a campaign tool to raise awareness for fair trade policies and global trade impacts on tea workers.

The Fairtrade Foundation have provided a teaching resource on fair trade tea here.

Cat herders day

Not so much a day for cat lovers but more a day for those whose life or jobs feels like herding cats. No matter how organised you may be, you will be unable to manage your tasks and objectives.

A teaching exercise could be a simple warm up exercise to elicit original phrases that capture the idea of cat herding.

e.g Dog Washer, Mice minder, Elephant foot washer, Kindagarten teacher....

Christmas films

A romantic comedy in which a British and American woman swap homes for a Christmas holiday.


While the American based storyline struggles to capture the heart, the British blossoming love story in fireside pubs and cottages with snow bound Cotswold scenery is always a winner, with eye candy for all!
