George actually signed on to the Titanic using his brother's name, James and was one of the crew members called to give evidence at the British inquiry. 

He had been on the contraversial "money boat", lifeboat 1, He returned to sea and died in 1931. He was survived by his two daughters and two sons. His widow lived until 1967.
