Profile
Young Mr. Coffey is an interesting character that signed on to the Titanic after working on the Olympic. He deserted ship at Queenstown. He would later talk of a forboding of disaster but he may have always planned to desert and simply used the ship to get passage home.
He continued to work at sea, and in fact joined the Mauretania shortly afterwards. He would claim he was Titanic survivor in later years when rescued from the river in Hull in 1940.
He died in 1957.
