Profile

Mr. Bishop was a wealthy young widowerwho married Helen Walton in 1911. The couple were returing from a four month honeymoon in Egypt, Italy, France and Algiers and they delyaed their return to return on the new Titanic. They boarded at Cherbourg. 


They evacuated on lifeboat 7 and attended the Senate inquiry to give testimony before returning home in Michigan. 


Life after Titanic was challenging. The baby Helen was pregnant with on the Titanic died after two days of life. The couple survived an earthquake and a serious car accident. Sadly that latter accident had profound impacts on Helen's personality and they divorced in 1916. Dickinson remarried in March that year and Helen died two days later.
