Born in Gosport around April 1878 Abrams signed to the army and later transferred to the Navy, serving on HMS Victory. He had a charge if bigamy for which he served eight months hard labour in 1911.
He returned to the sea after his time in prison and transferred from the Oceanic to Titanic. He died in the disaster and his body, if recovered, was never indentified.
