Travelling with his mother Rhoda Abbott and his brother Eugene returning to Rhode Island. 

As the Titanic took her final plunge. Mrs. Abbott and her sons jumped from the deck together. Rhoda was abe to reach Collapsible A but she lost her sons in the water.

Rossmore Abbott's body was recovered  and then buried at sea. He was identified by the medal marked "Rossmore Abbott" found on his person.
