Atlético Iberus (4) 4

Parque Ebro 10/03/19 18:00

Cabañero, Rooney, Slater, Ferns, Pernas, Shaw, Borque, Morris, Verenka, Kinsella

The Brits were still awaiting the return of Gilman and despite the absence of Wells and Peribañez had a strong squad to take on Atlético Iberus who were hanging on the coat tails of the top two teams as the best of the rest.

After the change on tactics last week, The Brits decided to maintain a defensive formation to start the game and the decision proved costly. The opposition ran riot throughout the half and sprang into a commanding four nil lead.

Half time saw the Brits revert to their more comfortable formation and put in a totally different performance. Kinsella grabbing the first from a corner, Morris netting a penalty and Slater scoring a third from the edge of the area, driving low. The Exiles pushed Iberus to the very edge but were unable to make the last step to grab a draw.

Cabañero was outstanding in goal, Ferns ran tirelessly and Borque continues to be a revelation. Slater and Rooney impressed at the back.
