Rudyard Kipling, one of the most successful and popular authors of the late 19th and early 20th century was born in Bombay India. His most well known stories are The Jungle Book, his Just So Stories for children, The Man Who Would Be King and Kim. He was also a very accomplished poet, author of If, (considered the most well loved poem in th eUK) My Boy Jack, Gunga Din and Mandalay.
